Text – The 1988 North Yorkshire Moors Railway Diesel Gala held on the weekend of the 23rd and 24th April 1988 featured the following locomotives;

Class 31 31428 ‘The North Yorkshire Moors Railway’
Class 37 37501 ‘Teeside Steelmaster’ and 37502 ‘British Steel Teeside’
Class 55 Deltic 55009 ‘Alycidon’
Class 42 Warship D821 ‘Greyhound’
An intensive timetable was in operation giving everybody chance to sample the visiting engines that had been brought in for the weekend.
